Wednesday 17th November – walk **** – Falkenham Church circuit – sunny, mild with light winds.

At last, a decent day here in Felixstowe with sunshine all day, I had hoped to windsurf foil at Levington but quickly realised that the wind was not going to play ball, perhaps will have better luck tomorrow? So did my exercises and with Mag not up to a bike ride as her covid jab has knocked her for six, she said perhaps a walk. So, I made a roll while she heated some yummy homemade soup and we drove over to the lovely church at Falkenham to have lunch with ‘Emily’. We had spotted buzzards on the drive over and as we were walking to the church a Muntjac deer ran across the road in front of us:) There was a couple of cyclists at our seat but they were just about to leave, they had biked over from Ipswich and we had a nice chat with them as a flock of long tailed tits did a fly past. The muntjac deer then walked across the field in front of us:) We then enjoyed the soup in the very peaceful setting with no one about:) Then we set off down to the River Deben the trees in full Autumn colours, the sky blue with a few fluffy clouds just perfect:) There were several Kestrals about as well as some Gold finches so it had been a good day for wildlife so far. There was also a family of swans in a dyke by the Deben with 5 young, then we took the river path a short distance to the next footpath inland returning the windy way back to the church covering 3.57 miles about our limit these days not helped as I have a painful heel which makes walking uncomfortable:( Back home to light the fire and have a cuppa and cake:)
